Pathways To Health is pleased to offer Bitcoin as a payment option for clients who prefer to use digital currency.
Bitcoin payments are processed securely through Square using the Lightning Network, providing a fast and convenient payment experience.
Bitcoin is accepted for eligible appointments and services in accordance with Square’s current transaction limits.
How Bitcoin Payments Work
- Schedule your appointment as usual through our online booking system.
- After your appointment (or when payment is requested), you will receive a Square payment request or invoice.
- Select Bitcoin as your payment method.
- Scan the QR code using your Lightning-compatible Bitcoin wallet (such as Cash App or another Lightning-enabled wallet).
- Your payment is confirmed within seconds, and your appointment is paid.
No special arrangements are required before your appointment, unless you are booking an appointment that requires a partial payment, such as a 3 hour session.
What is the Lightning Network?
The Lightning Network is a payment network built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain. It enables Bitcoin payments to settle almost instantly while keeping transaction fees very low.
You do not need to understand the technical details to use it—if your Bitcoin wallet supports Lightning payments, the process is as simple as scanning a QR code and confirming the transaction.
Refund Policy for Bitcoin Payments
Because Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, they cannot be canceled or reversed after they have been sent.
For this reason:
- Bitcoin payments cannot be refunded back to a Bitcoin wallet.
- If a refund is appropriate, it will be issued in accordance with Square’s Bitcoin payment policies, which currently provide refunds in the form of a Square Gift Card.
- If you have any questions before making payment, please ask prior to completing the transaction.
Price and Exchange Rate
Appointment fees are always established in U.S. dollars (USD).
When you choose to pay with Bitcoin, Square calculates the Bitcoin amount using the current market exchange rate at the time of payment. Because Bitcoin prices fluctuate, the amount of Bitcoin required for the same service may vary from day to day.
Security and Privacy
Bitcoin transactions are processed securely through Square’s payment system. Pathways To Health does not request or store your Bitcoin wallet’s private keys or recovery phrases.
As with any digital payment, please verify the payment details before authorizing your transaction.
